A helpful hint for new researchers.

A query will be much more likely to get a response if you include enough information to identify the person or family you are researching. Consider including the following information, if available.

WHO, are the people for whom you are looking? What were their full names? What were the maiden names of the women? What are the names of any children?

WHAT information do you already have about them and what information do you need? Do you want contact with descendants?

WHERE did they live, work, etc.?

WHEN did they live here, when did they die? At least give an estimated death date.

Examples of ineffective queries:

Need any information about the Jones family who presumably moved to your area in the late 1800s. James Jones, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Looking for information on my Uncle Ed who moved to Oil City in 1930. Thanks. Rita Johnson Smith.
