Unlike the above Ayla, who is black from a lighter-colored line, Veloura is the opposite in relation to her dam and sire. Both TaiZing and Valentine are jet black. Veloura is a muted grayhish-brown with white on her poll and some black highlight trims. The color is so muted that it looks like a brushed velvet. I have always enjoyed watching her as she cavorted around the pasture with her herdmates. She has a presence which yells out "Look at me" - it's in the way she travels with that smooth level put-together look.
