Goat-Related Articles
The articles I have listed here, written by me, are available for use by others in non-profit goat newsletters provided proper credit is given to me as the author and a complementary copy of the issue containing the article is sent to me. Copies can be sent to Elaine M. Eidemiller, 552 Township Line Road, Oil City, PA 16301.
It should be remembered that with any herd management or treatment regimen, different situations and different people mandate different approaches. I try to discuss all advise I glean from others and through research with my veterinarian and fellow goat breeders who have gone through similar experiences. These articles are here to offer aid based on my experience, but you should use them as dictated by your own circumstances and in concert with your veterinarian.
This next group of articles was written by a very good friend of mine, Marilyn Grossman, who owns the Kickadee Hill Dairy Goats in West Virginia. Ironically, when Marilyn lived in Pennsylvania, she and I really didn't know each other. It was after she moved and through the wonders of the Internet that we became good friends. This woman is a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding goats and their care. Through her patience and guidance, I have brought many of my animals through illnesses and injuries successfully. Her generousity with her knowledge has been invaluable to me and has taught me many things. Even today, as I look at my herd, and especially my Wyomi (remember, you saw her on my Alpine Senior Doe Page) - I continue to thank her. If it weren't for Marilyn's calm and patient guidance last year, my Wyomi would have been died. Instead, she is very much alive and very much healthy and expecting kids in March. Thank you, Marilyn, for all you have taught me over the years.
