CAN-KAT CELESTE 4*M

Blonde colored, Celeste had a very breed-specific head, and was strong in body, wide in the chest and throughout, with very level topline, smooth shoulder assembly, level back, very good rump, and standing on very good legs. Her mammary system had a smoothly extended fore udder, strong medial support, good udder depth, and soft pliability. She was a delight to watch on the move -- as she had that long even flow to her movements. A very well-put together doe, she moved fluently from a walk to a standstill in a natural set. Her kids carry that same stately neck and fluent motion of hers. |

Black with brown trim, Lily had a strong body showing good dairy angulation, width, depth of barrel, and correct rear leg angulation. Her well-balanced udder had good fore udder extension. Her mammary also had nice udder depth, good teat delineation, and nice udder texture. She was also a very affectionate doe -- one that made her mark both in my heart and in the herd. |

Licorice was a rusty orange color with black dorsal & facial stripe and some white on her legs. Licorice's LA scores included a Very Good in Head, and Excellents in Back and Rump. She was an interesting doe, with a very nice body although a little short in the neck. Her show record included the 1997 ADGA Nationals, where she placed 8th in the Intermediate Kid class, and at the 1998 Nationals, just making the cut in the Senior Yearling class. According to the judges she made the cut because of her correctness in body and they wanted to reward her for that, but then stood at 21st place because of the shorter neck. She also earned her dry leg. |

Katinka's warm sandy-beige coloring matched her warm personality. Katinka had a strong body with an excellent topline and very good rump. Her mammary was well balanced with strong medial suspensory ligament support, good teat delineation, and soft, pliable udder texture. Her 96 show career earned her a RGCH and Best Udder of Class 2x, with other placings of 2nd 4x, and 4th 1x. Her 1997 show record was 2nd 2x, 3 3x, and 6th 1x. Katinka never was able to be rebred after having quads in her third lactation. I kept her milking through but never got her rebred. |

Valentine is a striking totally black doe. She carries herself well with a long, lean neck; long, level topline; and a front shoulder assembly that allows for that graceful smoothness that is so nice to watch. Her production record is typical of her genetics. Her mammary system is capacious and well-attached. Unfortunately, she has only made it into the show ring twice, as a yearling milker. However, on that weekend, she was first in a fairly large yearling milking class both days. Her daughter, Veloura, will be a first-freshener this year and is listed in the Lamancha First Freshener section. |

Black with tan trim. Vanessa was longer and taller than my other Lamanchas. She had a smooth look to her because of her very good shoulder assembly, level topline, and nicely angled rump. She was a hard-working doe with a very functional udder which was very soft and pliable. She was one of my Canisius daughters and I have been pleased with the descendents from this doe. |
