Ayla, a Celeste daughter, has that same vivacious personality that all of my Celeste daughters have had. They are the ones that are the first to greet you in the pen with tail wagging, the ones that stand on their two back legs with their front hooves on the gate after you leave the pen, with that expression on their faces as if to say "Where are you going? I want to play some more." I love this in my Celeste line - and it carries through in Celeste's granddaughters as well - as Café Alait's daughters are just as personable. Since Celeste passed away this year, I find even more pleasure in Ayla as a result. She carries those same strong characteristics that Celeste had - long body with level topline and good rump. A very breed-specific head. Stands on solid legs and feet. The only thing that I notice that is different from when Celeste was a kid is that Ayla seems to be shorter. And the other difference is that Ayla takes after her sire in coloring. Where Celeste was blonde, Ayla is like her father, TaiZing - jet black with some white. Her white markings include a white ankle bracelet on her right front leg, white spot on her poll, and a little white perpendicular dash on her chin just underneath her lip. Ayla has been maturing very nicely, and freshened this year with a very nice, very well-attached udder. It has a smooth foreudder. The texture is supple and unblemished. The LA score she received on the mammary system was an E. Her overall score was 89, something I am very pleased with in a first-freshener. She is a true descendent of the pedigrees that exist on both her sire's and her dam's side. In addition, her brother, Jondalar , also appraised with an LA score of 89. She had twin does for me this past year and I have retained them in my herd. I am pleased that her dam, Celeste, continues to live on in my herd.
