A Sundgau, Earl excels in dairy character and body capacity. On the move, Earl is an uphill buck, coming to rest in an easy and natural stance - with level topline, smoothly blended shoulders and an impressive Alpine head on a strong neck. He walks on correct legs showing excellent rear leg angulation. His feet are good, both front and back. Earl has matured nicely though his life and is maintaining correctness and strength as evidenced by this past years LA score of 91 at seven years old. He is producing kids in my herd that are strong and wide throughout,
standing on nice legs with smooth level toplines and good rumps. Their
mammary systems are capacious and well-balanced with high, wide rear udders.
I have retained 3 of his daughters in my herd - Diamond, who scored 89
in appraisal as a 1st-freshener and again this year. Two others scored
well as first-fresheners also this past year - Madeline with an 87 and
Whittle Lady with an 86. All 3 of these does have profiles listed in this
Alpine section. |

A Sundgau, Shadow is a strong dairy buck, showing good chest width, a long and lean neck, openness of rib and standing on good feet both front and back. Level across the top and with good rump angle, Shadow is a striking buck on the move. He was shown as a yearling. It was his first show and he went Best Buck in Show from a total of 60 bucks. His sire, Solar Flare, has a 1997 LA a 1-01 of 88 (VVE), while his dam, Wynonna from my Naomi line, finished her championship in 1998 and placed 10th in the 5-year-old age class at the 1998 ADGA Nationals. Wynonna's profile can be found in the Alpine Refernce Doe section. He has matured tremendously in the past couple of years, especially becoming stronger and filling out beautifully from head to tail. This maturation showed well in his lasr appraisal which earned him a 91 score. His daughters have been freshening with strong capacious mammary systems and showing the strong level back and rump that he exhibits so well. |

I am very pleased to have this amazing little guy in my herd. I acquired him from David and Linda Boone, of Timshel Farm, in Conneatville, PA. This yearling has an endearing personality and an amazing color pattern. He is a light tan chamoisee with a black dorsal and three black legs and one white leg, and a white spot on his side. Although I don't try to breed for color, coupled with his pedigree and his dam's structural qualities, the color is an added bonus, as I have had too many Sundgau bucks in the past years and I am looking forward to some variety in my future Alpine kids. Tristan's dam, Eiffel, is a wide, powerful girl with a lot of style. Her back and rump are wide and level, and her feet and legs are very strong. Her udder is well shaped with super attachment, and a high wide rear udder. Her fore udder is smooth and well blended, with no pocket whatsoever. His kids from last year show that strong set of legs, level back and excellent angulation throughout. And true to his color, the color patterns have been interesting.

Mesmeriz is a Broken Sundgau. This strong-bodied buck added body and strength to my herd, as well as producing stylish daughters with mammary systems that are reinforced with the Sanstorm quality -- well attached, high & wide in the rear, and smoothly extended in the fore, several of which have earned Best Udder in their age classes and for Breed. Mesmeriz stood on strong legs with a massive chest and neck, and excellent topline and rump. In 1997, PDGA awarded him Production Award -- Sire with Highest AR Milk Average for Alpines, with average milk for at least 3 daughters at 2,250 pounds. |

Aristocrat was Cou Blanc. He had a good head, excellent back, wide and level rump, and correct rear-leg angulation. He corrected feet and legs in my herd. His daughter, Marina, is noted in the Alpine Reference Doe section.
